Malonic acid
Hi.
Exist any common source of malonic acid? I don't know where I find this acid - on the internet I didn't find it.

No producer of malonic acid in our country. Import only. Prices at Acros Organic quite high - more than 60 EUR per 250 g
https://www.acros.com/DesktopModules/Acros_Search_Results/Ac...
I know one kind distributor in CZ you can contact (they import from Acros stock in Belgium).

Isn't malonate the acid the opium poppy salts are found in in the plant? Morphine malonate etc etc.im assuming that after those Afghani farmers
extract the morphine there would be calcium or ammonium malonate in the leftover soup.so if there are any Afghani farmers or other ethnicity poppy
farmers out there looking at this start processing your leftover extract for malonic acid as it appears to retail at a decent price.

Synthesis is simple, if you have chloroacetic acid and sodium cyanide. Nitrilation proceeds under mild alkaline conditions, then hydrolysis.
Very useful reagent, too, for specific alkylations.
