hard time reading synthesis instructions
I have a hard time reading and putting into practice the first few things in this set up- I need a few confusing points unveiled:
1) ACN and PhosBuffer in 1:1 ratio, is that the molarity 1:1 or the volumes
2) I know salts are measured in equivalents, but I don't know how to read this at all.
3) How much total of Fremy's salt should there be in the ACN/Buffered solution?
THANK YOU!!

If you can't understand it, should you be attempting it?
Also, there's probably some other information that's not being included, perhaps because it is a patent.

I was a sorry witness of such doings, knowing that a little theory and calculation would have saved him ninety per cent of his labor.”

I have no started it until I ask for more experienced chemists their opinions. I've done more basic reactions, but I have a hard time deciphering the
beginning parts. Also patents have to be more detailed and more reproducible than published papers.

They are using HE to synthesize HE? Is that novel?

No it wouldn't be, but HE is Hydroethidine, not
Hyroxyethidium.
The poster forgot to mention that it's 7223864.

unless otherwise indicated 1:1 should refer to weights as opposed to equivalents or moles. It seems to be an arcane substance used for detecting
superoxides in cells. Now if you could turn that tertiary ethylamino group into an ether bridge you might be onto something interesting in the way of
intermediates.

You'd think, but sometimes there's a lot of ambiguity to stop people stealing from patents. I'd rather read published papers
