Hi-Valley Chemicals

http://www.hvchemical.com/

Found them a while ago but never placed and order until a few days ago, good selection, great prices reasonable and fast shipping. Over all I am very pleased with my transaction. The only thing is when you register they ask for a company name, just make something up.

Enjoy!

So have you gotten arrested yet? Anything more to the story?

Has anyone else ordered from this seller? I too came across their site about a year ago, but they asked for a company...but if they don't ask any follow up questions, maybe it's alright?

Their website says that they sell to hobbyists, so I am surprised they require a 'company name'. (There are some exceptions for a few chems, e.g. CHCl3, which explicitly say 'for sale only to companies', but most do not have this wording.)

Well since you all seen interested I will go ahead and share my expirences with HV chemical. I have ordered from them a number of times (more than 5), and everything came as described. Another thing I liked was that everything came within a week of ordering. Another thing there prices are pretty good especially on some of the solvents they carry. So over all I really like ordering from them.

My university orders solvents and other chemicals from Hi-valley chemicals. They are reputable supplier.

Best that no one think this is some hush-hush supplier. They have connections.

It seems the only people on this board are bureaucrats, who have vested interest in their jobs, and chemical vendors, who likely are trying to minimize their reporting requirements. The one member representing the public doesn't bother to show up. Just as well, as he would likely be just another chemophobe rather than someone speaking up for individual rights. :(

I actually would not be worried about buying chemicals from this type of supplier. First thing If you are conducting Legitimate amateur chemistry, the law is not after you. There have been some instances with the legitimate purchases of substances related to the production of explosives or illicit drugs where innocent parties have been effected. This is not usually the case. I do not have a problem with cops; I know many of them and they do not have a problem with legitimate amateur chemical experimentation. If you act like a jerk, they will treat you like a jerk. Some municipalities in the United States have issues with chemistry labs; you may have to form a research corporation to be legitimate. You may be put on some kind of a list when you purchase chemicals, do not fear this, since you are not doing anything illegal. If a lab acts like a meth kitchen, it probably is a meth kitchen. People who are afraid of purchasing common chemicals in the United States probably have something to hide. When I purchase chemicals I generally will tell the seller my intent of use, this has served me well over the years. Openess is the key to saving our hobby.
