high octane hydrocarbons, alcohols, etc
I'm trying to find some commonly available hydrocarbons, alcohols and other compounds with a high octane level. Here is what I have found so far:
Methanol - 110 octane
Ethanol - 113 (IDK if this is 100% anhydrous or what)
Toluene - 121
xylene - 118
isopropanol - 118
tert-Butyl alcohol - 103
ethane - 108
propane 112
Hydrogen 130+
Napthalene (added to gas to boost octane??)
Naptha ?
Is there anything common I've left out?

How about MEK?
Not sure of its octane level, but I saw it blow a dime-sized
hole right through the top of the middle piston in a 500cc
Kawasaki 3-cylinder 2 stroke motorcycle engine one time.
It was hilarious to watch. The owner of the old '69 Kaw
500 cc crotchrocket had dumped a few ounces of MEK
into his gas tank just for kicks. He also had a 200+ lb. rider
on the back with him.
We were all out riding on the freeway, and he pulled out
past us making a cloud of smoke. He accelerated away,
and when he got up to about 95 mph, a big smoke cloud
was seen far ahead. He then pulled over and stopped.
That bike made it back home approx. 45 miles on 2 of the 3
cylinders.
