(DGBE) Diethylene glycol monobutyl ether base catylized de-esterfication

Hi!

I've made some searches about this subject but not found anyting useful .

DGBE from what i've read is not hydrolysed in acqueous environment but noboby talks about hydrolysis of DGBE in basic environment (KOH or NaOH as catalysts).

I would like to know if DGBE could be hydrolised in basic environment and what are the products that will be produced.

Maybe DGBE will be broken to butanol and glycerin ?

Thanks.

No one talks about it because ethers are in general stable to bases.

And could you explain how you would get glycerin from DGBE?
