I have a really good lab built into my house where I do fuel cell research among other things. The whole thing ran about $75,000.00 in equipment.

I'm hoping to get a shipping container installed out in my back yard for my lab.
Its going to have to have power run to it, heating and cooling system installed, explosion proof lighting, and one hell of a ventilation system
including a large fume hood.
The container itself will run about $3K, and that is for an 8x40... I'm going to get the high cube version if possible.
I'll need to have a gravel pad installed, and perhaps concrete piers... I figure that will run around another $1k.
I think the power and lighting will cost about another $700-1000, and the HVAC will probably run around another $3K or so including the fume hood and
extraction fans.

Yes, I got a great education as well thanks to further grants and no student loans. To YT2095: I am going to run a gas from a separate annexed shed
outside the lab. However, since I work with organics I use hot plates and heating mantles to avoid open flames as much as possible. I also limit many
of chemical I use because of hazardous conditions. If need be I can still do work at the college I went to (I used to manage their labs and still
have access to the lab). There are some things I will not do out of my own lab due to safety/health regulations (I take these issues very seriously).
