I know many of you are tired of chlorate and perchlorate posts but please here me out. Recently i have found information that says that you can
convert pure chlorate to perchlorate and chloride by just heating the chlorate above its melting temp for a few hours. I was wondering if anyone has
ever tried such a procedure and if you have how did you keep a stable temperature. Any insight will be appreciated and once again I apologize for
bringing such run down topic back up.

Yes! It is a well known procedure described in many chemistry textbooks.
You will find many references to the procedure in this forum. Use Google to search www.sciencemadness.org for (chlorate perchlorate decomposition).
Here are a couple:

Basically the method is innefficient and non-stoichiometric, and quite frankly scares the shit out of me...![:o](./images/smilies/shocked.gif)
