The latest shipment of my lab equipment from USA is showing up in a few days

1. A further lot of Waters HPLC equipment: detectors, fraction collectors, an autosampler, pumps and controllers, prep column radial compression modules, etc etc

2. Parr temperature controller 4833 for the mantle of my 500ml shaker type hydrogenation apparatus

3. A Cole Parmer Microflex L/E pump drive with a PTFE diaphragm head

4. Kipp & Zonen chart recorder

5. Sequoia-Turner 304 UV-Vis Spectrophotometer

This should be fun

I'm that old.

Prior to getting my hands on a Millenium32 system, I hedged my bets with a pair of Waters 746 integrators, a pair of Waters 5200 4-pen chart recorders, and that Kipp & Zonen.

The 5200s work well with the 4-channel Model 490 detectors (have four of those) which only are partially compatible with Millenium (like, you can only use two of the four frequencies you can select, and none of the advanced features that make a 490 a poor man's PDA.

The integrators are same as one of the HP series and use same ink cartridge. Really kludgy 2-line LCD display and crummy printout but they do work.

I paid no more than $100 for the integrators, and the 5200s, each, and $50 for the Kipp & Zonen so not exactly a major investment.
