I have a couple of fuel cells here already but they are only tiny, one is a Fuel cell/Electrolyser also.
I`m hoping to replicate this principal in the Lab, tweek it so that I can get best performance and then hopefully scale it up a little.
Has anyone ever taken apart a Lithium Battery, in particular a CR123A or similar?
inside you will not that they are spiral wrapped like an electrolytic capacitor or a Ni-Cad, the Anode is the MnO2 on a metallic substrate, and the
Cathode is the Li metal as a foil.
there is no Direct electrolytic contact, they are seperated by a White Very thin Plastic like material that strongly resembles PTFE.
Does anyone know what this material is made of and is it a Proton or Ion Exchange Membrane?

Take a look at this patent, in particular section 0060
