Hello,

Searching for a cylohexylamine source i came across the following product; 2,2 Dimethyl-4,4-Methylenebis(Cyclohexylamine).

I am unsure what this product is. it has a diffferent cas. no to cyclohexylamine.

Can it be used in place of as a substitute for cyclohexylamine?

Can cyclohexylamine be synthesized?

If some one could help i would be very greatful.

thank you,

jst

Yes. No. for what purpose?

Yes, for instance from cyclohexanone via reduction amination, from a cyclohexyl halide (made from cyclohexanol) by reaction with a large excess of ammonia, from cyclohexanecarboxamide (hexahydrobenzamide) (from cyclohexanecarboxylic acid) via the Hofmann rearrangement. Or by purchasing it.

From the compound you asked about? Not really, look at the structure.
