I used to get these for like 30 - 35 bucks. Lowest price I can find is 55, which seems high. I mean, standard gel type, BNC connector. I got an Orion
meter.

If you know anyone working in an environmental, academic or industrial lab, they usually discard probes when they no longer "work". I once recieved a
large bag of "bad probes". I refill with saturated AgCl and soak them for a day or two in conc. HCl; about 60-70% of the "bad" ones will work fine.
Online auction sites have been known to have a few a good prices, but as with analytical columns, buyer beware.

They've got a nice Hanna probe for 39 bucks, that's a good deal.
Spent probes? Usually, the labs I've worked for only discard when they're absolutely on their last legs. I do take them, though - I bust them open

Theres one at the moment using buy iy now US$13-14 plus p&h from shanghai.

You can strike the occasional bargain thats cheap. its not rocket science.

Hanna sells a hook up to your PC gadget called the Turtle that I've heard good things about.
All a pH meter is is an analogue computer. If you felt like it, you could determine pH with an electrode, and any decent voltmeter.
