Broken tap remover active ingredients

I don't know about that particular compound, but ammonium or sodium persulfate would work on aluminum, you might want to use just alum, sodium bisulfate, or sulfuric acid on brass or copper. The persulfates would etch copper and brass, sulfuric acid and sodium bisulfate would probably attack brass.

One remedy I heard was boiling in alum. Apparently it's acidic enough. Another is nitric or sulfuric acid, which obviously work best on aluminum. Sulfuric, or, yeah, a bisulfate, is the best bet here.

sulfamic acid would be my guess
