Hi,
I'm working with diborane compounds, namely bis(pinacolato)diboron, and I'd like to know about it stability towards water and alcohols. I've been
googling a bit but couldn't find anything about its potential hydrolysis/alcoholysis. I'm not worried about the pinacol at all, I'm more interested in
the reactivity of the B-B bond.
Can anyone help? Bibliography will be appreciated!!

Hello there, this is not my interest, but maybe i can help. As i know B-B bond is extremely strong dye to icosaedre structure of boron molecule (B12)
and because of that boron is mixed with some metals, to improve their strenght, to
remove the oxygen and nitrogen dissolved in the metal or chemically bound to it.

I know that pinacol (type of dioles) you can gain from aldehydes or ketones. The simpliest one is from 2-propanone (Acetone). At low pH it can easily
hydrolyse to pinacolone.
