This isn't really about 'apparatus', rather books, but fellow forum members should be aware of the amazing deals occasionally available for older
edition chemistry textbooks at Half Price Books.
I just made a loot run, and along with another text I got two weeks ago, I have just recently acquired:
Experimental Organic Chemistry, Gilbert & Martin, 3rd ed, $5
Organic Chemistry, Brown & Foote, 3rd ed, $5
Quantitative Chemical Analysis, Harris, 5th ed, $8
Lehninger Principles of Biochemistry, 3rd ed, $10
Amazon lists new copies of these, mostly one edition newer, for $74.99 (4th), $177.95 (4th), $84.36 (7th), $125.96 (4th).
That totals $463.26, but my total, including tax, was $30.
More like 'Fifteenth Price Books'.
Not all books are discounted this enormously, I see a lot for $40-$50, but great deals like this do show up.
