Is there a relatively easy way to make Phenol C6H5OH as it seems very difficult to source these days. Other phenols such as Resorcinol and Thymol are regularly available, but not phenol itself.

You can make it by decarboxylation of salicylic acid.

Salicylic acid is in a lot of skin care products and is more or less unregulated. Here's 500 grams for $25:
