I wonder if rxn FeCl3 + 3KCNO -> 3KCl + Fe(CNO)3 occurs. I've been searching everywhere including google scholarship, pubchem
etc. unfortunately I found nothing.
The most similar compound to that was potassium iron cyanate so maybe the reaction goes more like that: FeCl3 + 4KNCO -> KFe(NCO)4 + 3KCl?
What colours does this compound(s) have?

I couldn't find anything either concerning specific products in the reaction between ferric ions and cyanate ions in the older literature but there is
a fair volume of work on the cobalt compound which is deep blue complex anion so it is quite likely that iron forms similar compounds. It would be
worth trying out maybe Fe, Cu and Ni solutions to see if they form cyanato complexes.
