Why not use tap water? Is it not pure enough for your application? Generally all potable water is pretty good for chemistry unless you're doing
analytic work, or if the dissolved ions will affect the reaction or catalyze side reactions, etc.
If I'm collecting a product by distillation or by precipitation/filtration, I don't give a darn what's in the water unless it's going to end up in the
product. Besides, most amateur work is done with tech-grade hardware store chemicals with contaminants in much higher concentration than you might add
by using tap water. |
