Lots of good glassware (Chemglass) up for auction - today's auctions are posted (end in like 7 hours)

RogueRose - 7-3-2017 at 06:32

I've found someone who will ship from this location to anywhere in the US as well as internationally. I'm not sure of the rates, they haven't been too forth coming in stating those "ahead of time". If I win a number of auctions I'll have somone pickup everything in one trip (or self) and package and ship myself instead of a really expensive service.

Winning bid amount will have a 25% additional fee for auction house and state sales tax, so that would be above and beyond anything that is listed for bidding amounts.

To see the items better, hold mouse over the pic, press the Ctrl button and scroll up with the mouse scroll wheel or use Ctrl and the + key - this will zoom in. Click on the image to open it to full size/high detail.

Current min bids:
Top left - $60
top Right - $90
Mid left - $200 (all New in box)
Mid right - $200
bottom left - $180 - IDK if cabinet is included

There are a number more auctions tomorrow that I'm going to post as well but it takes a little while to get them together.

I think RR is located near Boston.
International shipping then becomes an issue.

Here are what the lots are I bid on. The first number of the file is the lot numver and the dollar amount is where I stopped bidding when it was in "overtime" between me and another buyer, so the sale price was usually $10-30 above my last bid except for the 50L which probably went for $800 (total). There was an additional ~25% tax/fee combo on top of the high bid.

I'm posting these because I'm planning on bidding on some more auctions down the road (with more warning for anyone interested in items) so people can see what kind of stuff is sold and what lots look like.

There was a TON of other equipment like stirrers, hot plates, vacuum pumps and TONS of other stuff I don't really know what it was for exactly.

Well I spent a ton of time researching and then bidding. All the above auctions except a couple I was the highest bidder until the last 20-30 seconds then the bidding went to overtime (1 minute intervals). You get one chance to bid and if someone bids higher, then they win, you don't get to re-bid to over-bid their counter bid.

I would have bidhigher on most of these lots, but when I had 10 bids open at once, each for $100-300 I didin't kow if I would win them all and not have the $$ for them, so I had to keep a lower bid.

If I find more auctions like this I'd like to know if anyone has interest in splitting lots as I can't use all the glassware nore do I want to sell all of it. Terms could be worked out. Most auctions are posted about 30 days prior to the start so if there are lots of itnerest and it is questionable as to what is in the lot, i can contact them to get more detailed pictures and model info.

There were about 10 lots from the first day of 28 items NIB of 250ml to 2000ml 4 neck flasks as well as a lot of 28 200mm liebig's w/ matching 300mm vigurex - all chemglass. There were a number of soxelet (sp) lots with 12 different sizes (60ml to 1L) all NIB - that sold for $200! These were just incredible and I wish I had seen it more than 4 days before it started. There were about 40 of those manifolds that sold for $30-50 each.

Finally, there is a lot of electrical stuff and more "professional" stuff that I don't know what it really does
like chromatography machines, analyzers of some type, microscopes and everything else that belongs ina lab.

This is glass porn. There are some really nice items here. And a shame to let them slip by. Lot 1100 is particularly appealing.
It would be lovely to have a few grand to splash and to be in the right place for this stuff.
Perhaps a more targeted bidding strategy would have helped: fewer lots bid on and the option of going a bit higher.
Please keep your eyes open for more of these. I am sure that given a bit more lead time you will find interested parties to join you. Alas for me I would have to factor in shipping as well and that turns a bargain into something prohibitive when it comes to the US.

I second that. Definitely been looking for these sorts of opportunities myself...
