(NH4)2SO4 + Na2SO4 ----> 2NH3 + 2NaHSO4
works very well.unionised - 9-12-2006 at 08:54
Are you sure? NaHSO4 is quite a strong acid and reacts with NH3.
Anyway Na2SO4 + H2SO4 ---> 2NaHSO4
Its easy enough to mix the 2 materials in solution in water then dry off the water to get dry NaHSO4guy - 9-12-2006 at 13:37

Yes Im sure. SOLID Na2SO4 + SOLID (NH4)2SO4
Heat drives away the NH3, leaving a very acidic solid. Tried and true.unionised - 10-12-2006 at 06:42
"Heat drives away the NH3"
Funny, but I didn't see that bit in the original post.
