Good afternoon everyone.
I attempted to make Piperine using ChemPlayer's method with Isopropyl alcohol. It worked, yes, but the current location I am at now does not have any
Sodium or Potassium Hydroxide. Could I substitute this with another strong base? I have access to copious amounts of Trisodium Phosphate. Will that do
the trick for dropping this pesky resin out of solution? (I used black pepper.)
Thanks!

I am very skeptical about phosphate dropping out the resins- it is a very weak base (phosphoric acid is pretty strong). You could try sodium
carbonate, not bicarbonate...Rhodanide - 17-8-2016 at 08:12
