Alcohol/lipid soluble metal compounds?

Need a bit of a brain storming session here. Covalent or ionic compounds with a metal atom in them and alcohol ( ethanol ) and lipid solubility.

Toxicity not a concern ( withing reason ), money a minor consideration - I'm trying to find alternatives to uranium and osmium for electron contrast with some degree of selectivity. I'm already using the aforementioned and phosphotungstate - but they're not quite right.

Not sure if this is 'metal' enough for you, but anhydrous gallium trichloride is notorious for dissolving in pretty much any solvent you can think of, even alkanes. Maybe that would work for you?

Ooohh, that might do the trick - I've used the acetate for similar things. cheers
