I have some potassium which is getting a bit long in the tooth so I thought I would put it to some use. I wanted to ampoule some under argon and take some slow motion videos of the metal under various conditions so here they are :-

Finally I thought I would drop some onto wet paper under Argon. Interestingly this still gave some reddish light. Is this the potassium getting red hot because there is no oxygen in there to make it burn ?.
