Hi guys! I learnt to use the Nernst-equation today. The question is: wwhat to use as the change in oxidation number when the charges of the ions are
not equal? For example when we calculate an Ag+/Ag and a Cu2+/Cu cell.

The Nernst equation is used with each half reaction separately to determine the non-standard electrode potentials. From there you can work out
the non-standard cell potential in the usual manner.

Oh, thanks. I have just always seen it withthe same amount of electrons needed for the half-reactions and then it works with just one equation
