Tin has so low melting point compared to Zn that you do not need thermometer to notice difference. For example pure tin will melt when touched with
soldering iron, droped to kitchen hotplate or held for a while in candle flame. It is still wise to make some additional tests as it may be some other
metal or alloy with low mp.
