So I bought a hot/stir plate it's max temp is 280 C now my problem is it needs a lot of time to boil water(not only water anything)not because it
heats slowly I checked it's surface temp several times it was like 150c and water in the beaker was like 70C.Now I suspect that the shaping of my
beaker isn't very good for some reason.It is not flat at the bottom it has like small dent so it(I think at least)doesn't heat full surface directly
it only heats the sides.
Also I am new to practical chemistry and if you can tell me if the beaker should be fully flat on the bottom or no.

My beakers are almost perfectly flat on the bottom.

your beakers and other glassware should be flat to best allow heat transfer. the only thing I can guess is that your have been over heated using a
Bunsen flame? your water will take forever to boil with those ones you picture. beakers are very cheap to purchase out of China

Just set up a double boiler.
I bought a couple stainless steel dog food bowls from the dollar store for just that purpose.

I can 100%confirm that it was not over heated with a bunsen burner or any other heat source also i payed 9€ for the beaker it i simax brand and
when i was buying it the transporters noted to me that it all came from eu. Maybe i could try trading my beakers with my schools i am pretty sure they
are flat or use zombies idea which i had used in all of my experiments.just a al dish and propane burner at bottom. Thanks anyways!
