Opinion on a Condenser..

Thinking of buying this two little guys:

In my country, they go for about $40, shipping included I'd be saving around $10. I can wait for the shipping time, no problem.

But I'm worried about the infamous "Pyrox" stories, about exploding glassware coming from China. Seller is from China.

So wondering wether or not it'd be advisable to buy it from there.

Opinions?

Also:

Can I use a 24/40 female joint with a 29/32 male joint? Or do they have to be the same size?

I wouldn't worry about a condenser as it is not subject to rapid temperature fluctuations or vacuum, generally. The seller is supposed to be pretty reputable as well.

As for joint sizes, you may be able to get them to work if you purchase an additional adapter, but otherwise you need the same size joints. I generally recommend using the same size joints when possible, though I have heard you can sometimes get great deals on oddball glassware and purchase a converter or adapter.

Kinda thought the same thing about condensers, just wanted to be extra sure before expending the money.

i love my alihn and i used it as a liebig way after i purchased my liebig too.it works great and i thought even better than the liebig except the liebig can be used in a slanted angle as well as vertical.the alihn seemed to cool the distillate faster since the droplets had to travel along the glass in a semi circle route.mostly i just love the look i guess but it does work very well as a condenser.

Woops, sorry man, rookie mistake :/ kind of that combined with my own insecurity, first time ordering glassware from eBay. You're right, though, should've searched before posting. My bad, and thanks so much for the links!
