I was using separatory funnel with solvent and i was wondering if there was a way to accellerate the separation processus, cause it's taking age
and i hate waiting...any idea?

What are you trying to separate? I'm not sure I quite understand what exactly the problem is you're having.

Non-Polar solvent (lighter gas) out of water...

What's slowing down the separation? I've never had troubles with separation taking forever in a separation funnel, it usually goes fast.

Damn, xoo1246 was faster. ![;)](./images/smilies/wink.gif)
Yes, salt it out with simple table salt or better dishwasher regeneration salt whats much cleaner than what we eat.
But salting out does not work with density but more with a kind of taking up the free places together with emulsion breaking.
Anyway, works fine.
You should distill the lighter gas later as it probably contains emulsion building substances/oiles. These are often mixed to gasolines and else for
equipment protection.
sorry forgot the attachment....
