You haven't given us with much information to work with. Web based sources tend to be rather specific, though you could search the patent lit.

The best single source for information Ive found is the book 'Photochromism' Ed. by Glenn H Brown. (Techniques of chemistry volume 3).

ISBN 0-471-92894-1

A truly excellent book. Introduction to the classes of compounds, summary of the majority of individual members, synthetic hints, and comprehensive references. Its also not that expensive secondhand where found. The bad news is that it was published about 1971 so most of the commercial dyes now used will probably not be in it, its also very much a chemistry book, not a guide to selecting dyes for a particular purpose.
