Al + HCI = ?

What compounds are created as a result of the mixture of aluminum and hydrochloric acid?

Have you even tried looking?

Well, if I am correct...

2Al + 6HCl -> 3H2 + 2AlCl3

Here are some pages on Aluminum Chloride

Here
... and here.

Guess I was wrong. ;)

If it was as easy as that :(

I think the oxychloride forms.
The oxychloride is widely used in deodarants...

IIRC, Al + 3HCl(anh.) = AlCl3 + 1.5 H2
Any water present is absorbed, giving hydrous product:
Al + 3HCl + 6H2O = H6Al(OH)6Cl3 + 1.5 H2 (which is a cumbersome way of writing AlCl3.6H2O.)

AlOCl doesn't form that I know of. AlCl3.6H2O pyrolyzes, AlCl3 sublimates and dissociates in various ways, and Al(OH)3 precipitates from solution when base is added (then dissolves in excess base).
