Im running a reflux reaction and am curious in regard to how the themometer attaches to the setup. Should it be ontop of the condenser? Or from one of
the necks of my RBF. If so what adaptors are standard for the afformentioned application? Any tips, hints would be greatly appreciated.

The thermo should be imersed in the reaction fluid, its only needed at the top when distilling.
So put the thermo in the side neck of your RBF and imerse the bulb in the fluid. What socket size is the side neck of the flask? there are special
thermometer adaptors you buy to attach thermometers so you need to find the socket size of the side neck and buy the appropriate thermometer adaptor
to fit.

Would just putting a thermometer in the solution work? Like just put it in the flask w/ the reactants.

Fixating the thermometer on the neck of the RBF (beaker) with a metal stripe, should be adequate for
easy reflux and rising slowly the temperature of the heating plate.
Cheap electronic sensors will work too when they resist to the needed themperatures.
