Im setting up a reflux reaction and am curious in regard to what style of tubing i should use. Is standard rubber tubing suitable or ??
Any advice or suggestions on acquisistion would be much appreciated

It really depends what kind of conditions -- what chemicals are you using in the reaction?

Is the tubing actually in contact with chemicals or is it just the tubing for the condenser's cooling water?

One length of tube will be running cold water into the condenser jacket and the other length will be pointed down the sink.

Then just any plastic/rubber tubing that will snugly fit onto the condenser and your water source. Aquarium/pond stores are a good bet for the right
size of tubing.

Hospitals. You can pick up all kinds of the tubing they use for the oxygen masks and such things, since they're disposable. Get an athsma attack,
get the mask put on.... "Oh, since you're throwing that out, could I take it home?"
Sizes are limited, though. But all my tubing comes from there.

I have found that surgical tubing (rubber) works well for condenser water lines. I found it at a hardware store.
