The only information I can find about the shock-explosive capacity of nitronate salts has talked about when they are dry. Are these salts fairly safe
(nitropropane/butane) to form in an aqueous solution? I want to attempt an addition to an alkyl halide, but not if there is an explosion risk.

I was tinkering with potassium nitrate recently and wondering the same thing..
EDIT: I misread the title, sorry. Thought you said nitrate salts.
