So I have this 500mL can of red lead paint, what can I do with it? It's pretty old, like from the 1960s... It has divided in layers, the oily
yellowish top and the red muddy bottom. Can I get anything out of it? Bert - 8-4-2014 at 11:08
You can get a big red mess. Most paints had lead oxide (white pigment as a base) and then other pigments as well, likely several pigments there,
which will make it hard to clean up. But you could wash the solids with mineral spirits then decant off the liquids after letting them settle for a
few days and maybe get some lead compounds. Likely easier to take apart a battery and make them.valeg96 - 8-4-2014 at 11:32
