Sulfuric acid from CuSO4

Can I prepare Concentrated H2SO4 from decompose CuSO4 in Hight Temperature with out using Vanadium catalyst for oxidation of sulfur dioxide.

I think other vitriols are more suitable for this. FeSO4 x 7 H2O for example. It decomposes at lower temperatures, so that the SO3 won't be destroyed immediately to SO2. Decomposing of FeSO4 was the major method for making sulfuric acid and oleum in the 18th century (aka Nordhäuser-method).

hmm..I believe this matter was discussed previously in the forum. Search on it will yeild information that you need.

There is no need to strongly heat your copper sulfate. If you have time and electricity to spare, electrolysis can be carried out with copper plating out on the cathode and oxygen evolved on anode. sulphuric acid will then be left at the end of everything(when solution turns colorless). You can concentrate it heating the solution.

The preparation of sulfur trioxide is possible with copper sulfate but at the temperatures employed in its destructive distillation a notable quantity of the SO3 evolved dissociates into oxygen and sulfur dioxide thus reducing the yield of SO3.

Electrolyzing molten CaSO4 also produces SO3 if you want an interesting side project (Mp 1450C).... Precipitation of calcium oxalate from a calcium sulfate solution yields a solution of very pure sulfuric acid (jeeze, think about how diluted the solution would be initially, .209g CaSO4 soluble in 100g of H2O....

I am fairly certain that the decomposition of copper sulfate has been covered somewhere, but since I was unable to find it no matter what my query was in the search engine I have no quips about this topic.

Can I get H2SO4 by electrolysis of CuSO4 solution using lead anode?

I tried with it but the main problem was copper ppt. and temp. of cell raise to (110 degree) when I use 48volt, 32A, for 10 liter of Solution.!!
and it was good for 1.5 liter using 12volts, 8A DC power suplly!!:(
