I need to make up a lot of stock solutions (40 to be exact) and of course need somewhere to store them. Do any of you know where I could get
Boston amber glass round bottles for a low price? I don't really want to spend the $60 I've seen at almost every place I've looked.hyfalcon - 10-3-2014 at 05:25
Have you searched on ebay?Nickdul - 10-3-2014 at 06:03
Depending on the volume, you may find a lot of identical size and shape bottles for next to nothing from pharmacies/drug stores or hospitals. At least
that is my experience here in Bulgaria. I talked to a nurse at the local hospital and most liquid medication still comes in amber bottles up to 250ml
in volume. In a week, they had collected for me 20 bottles ranging from 125 to 300ml. Most are standard with interchangeable caps.
I'm not sure if that is an option, but if you think about places that go through a lot of stuff packaged in such bottles (maybe printing supplies,
places that package stuff in bottles?), you may come up with a relatively inexpensive to free source.
Otherwise, there are many suppliers (sic. at AliExpress, Ebay) that go about selling bottles in bulk at low prices.TheChemiKid - 10-3-2014 at 07:10
I'll second Specialty Bottle - I use their 2 dram vials for small samples, and their amber glass packers are great for larger amounts of solid
reagents. No minimum order quantity!Dr.Bob - 10-3-2014 at 10:20
If you can find a local source, that is best, as shipping on glass bottles is often as expensive as buying them. I used to have dozens of them, but
am down to a mix of a few each of several sizes. But the times I have shipped a box full of them, the postage was almost as much as the bottles sold
for. But if you can get a case of them in one shipment, perhaps the shipping will not be too bad.thesmug - 10-3-2014 at 12:12
