Stuck this here since it seemed a rather newb question, and after about 40 minutes of digging through all the threads mentioning R-134a /
1,1,1,2-Tetrafluoroethane, only one made a passing mention as a use for inert atmosphere in extracting Li.
Anyway, what use would this gas be in using for inert atmo reactions? Argon and N2 are available to me, but are way out of my price range ATM with gas
bottle rentals/regulators/etc., and while I can get those cans of N2/Argon for wine saving/paint saving, they contain very little gas.
This particular gas is rather cheap in my area and readily available with regulators that are "OK" at controlling it.
Edit: I also forgot to ask, if not good for general reaction inert usage, what reactions would this be adverse to, and would this gas find any usage
as a solvent storage medium (EG: ether, THF, Li, Na, Ca metals, etc.).
