Grignard reagent

Does anyone have any 4-Chlorophenylmagnesium bromide (1M in ether) to sell? Or has a source better than the obvious chemical supply houses?

Cheers

I imagine 4-chlorophenylmagensium chloride could be prepared relatively easily from p-dichlorobenzene which is sold as mothballs.

It's not that easy to do that. A lot gunk, mainly 4,4'-dichloro-biphenyl will form, and really good quality magnesium is needed to make that reagent.

However phenylmagnesium chloride could be made on even a large scale from chlorobenzene and magnesium, without any solvent. The only problem is to separate the biphenyl what will be also present in 5-15% depending on conditions.
