Few months ago I opened up my ancient DVDplayer and I removed the laser apparatus, opened that up and revelaed a crystal it is a cuboid, I think it is
Er:YAG(Erbium doped yittrium aluminum garnet) but i am not sure what it is any thoughts?

What color is the laser beam? Red? Er:YAG produces an infrared beam.

If I recall correctly, it's polycarbonate (same material as the optical disk itself) with a metallic coating. It's worth saving.

Thank you it is as valuable to me as a laser crystal, anyway I may store it in an ampoule.
