Hi,
I managed to get my little chlorate cell to run nicely, but there are many things in field of pyrotechnics that cannot be done safely with chlorates.
Before I start with leadoxide or platinium stuff:
Have you ever considered to convert chlorates to perchlorates just by heating them for some time?
For example sodium perchlorate:
I will end up with a mixture from maybe some leftover chlorate, wich can be destroyed easily.
The perchlorate is much more soluble than the chloride, so I can decant the chloride.
Perchlorate solution is treated with KCl.
Is this useful in practice?
What temperatures are needed and is it possible to get useful yields?

U.T.F.S.E. This has been covered so many times it's been beat to death. Try searching before posting.
