Hi
i am wondering if its could be done in that method
reacting liquified Methyl chloride with metallic magnesium
to get Methylmagnesium chloride
and then bubbling Co2 in a solution of Methylmagnesium chloride ?

If you bubble CO2 through methylmagnesium chloride, followed by acidification, you'll get acetic (ethanoic) acid, not methanoic (formic).

Oxidation of methanol over copper qives methanoic acid.
