I have found a source that can sell 4 liters of tert-butyl alcohol for pretty low price (correct me if I am wrong). The price for 4 liters is 100
dollars which ends up being only 25 dollars a liter plus shipping this is quite a bit lower price than I have seen most other places such as post
apple scientific or eBay which are 33 dollars plus shipping and even as far as 15 dollars for 250 ml.
so the hole point of this thread is to see if there is anyone who would be interested in a group buy of the alcohol as I only need 500ml or so.
If my legitimacy is questioned I have several members who can vouch for me as a buyer and seller.

I paid like $12.00 for a little over 100ml from a supplier off ebay. Since I don't know the source on that sample, this purchase from a local source
makes me feel better about that one variable anyway.

shipping for you would probably be much less than others because of our proximity to each other. I will be purchasing locally might get it shipped
though because its only 5 dollars because we are so close and it would keep me from having to drive there.
for all others I believe it will be ups ground shipping normally is like 10-18 dollars

to make potassium, which could well be a young, inexperienced person who could quite easily injure themselves with it.

Well, looks like the same source has t-amyl also. Though it's a bit more pricey. Blue Matter, we need to avoid that hazmat fee by doing a will call.

I would be interested in 500ml or so (yes, it is to make potassium) however there is a good chance that I will need to pay some kind of hazmat
shipping. I live in Australia, and previously have had 1L of Methyl ethyl ketone turned away since its flammable (I was ordering from america).

I just checked my local source and for me 5 gallons of ACS grade tert-butyl alcohol is $305.00 so if a whole bunch of people want it, blue matter, or
if someone needs a lot I can help make it cheaper as well.
In general my source for stuff in large amounts is very cheap and either lab grade or ACS so if you need other hard to find things I can help. I can

It has a pretty low flash point is what I understand is the reason for it needing to be ground shipped.

There might be other tert- alcohols with a higher molecular mass that are not flammable (example 3-Methyl-3-pentanol). These would probably work even
better in the Potassium reaction, since they are less volatile. If one could find a good price on these other alcohols, it could avoid the haz-mat
fees.

The supplier also has 20 liters of 28-30% ammonia for 125 dollars which is really a good price. I would be interested in like 3 or 4 liters if anyone

Plastic jugs can easily be procured milk jugs could even be used.
*more than likely if you ask them I am positive that they would bottle it in smaller quantities if wanted they are quite helpful.
