Sodium fluoride and potassium fluoride

what are your experience about halo-substitution using NaF and KF?
when i prepared F3CSCl from Cl3CSCl, and bubbled this low b.p material into another mixture to do a nucleophilic substitution reaction it worked well with NaF,the product obtained was good-shaped crystal, also, the yield was good, but when using kF in the same reaction , the final product was some hard to handle paddy stuff with a low yield. i've tried twice in the hope of finding out the reason, but i can only venture a guess that it's the water absorbed by kF japodise the reaction, i mean even the KF was bought as anhydrous ,but it may quickly absorb water from air during addtion to flask.
pS: I'm not from english speaking country ,but i hope that i've make it clear .thanks
