BP with partially carbonised material was known as "cocoa powder".
It was slower than regular BP but was very vulnerable to ignition by static . . .
yes, thats somewhat related to what i made, except for that the tissue paper that was going to be charred was already soaked in KNO3 / sugar, which i
think makes the big difference..
