What is the purpose of the thread visitor counter on the forum? As far as I can see, it has no proper, useful purpose. If there is one, please
englighten me.
If not, isn't it just a waste of the space on the forum quota?

I love it, back when I was a productive member of the forum I used the view counts of threads to determine their popularity to guide my
experimentation. My work with sodium and phosphorus and especially hydrazine stemmed from the popularity of those threads.
