As a teenager, I used to strip mercury switches out of old thermostats. I often kick myself for not holding onto them. I also have an irradiated
dime that I got at the 1964 Worlds Fair. I guess the changes in safety standards over the years have not been all bad.

California to cause cancer."
California, does everything cause cancer? Because the last time I went there, I found that warning on my bottled water from the grocery store.
Rant over, back to mercury. What do you need it for? Mercury electrolytic cell? Element collection? Other?

Keep in mind, that a single ounce of Mercury, will only have a volume of about 2cc..
So, volume-wise your $7.50 doesn't buy much.
Now, a used Mercury Manometer, for $15 to $20, that's a lot of Mercury.
