I recently found this chemical metabolism map of the cell , which I just HAD to scan because it's so comprehensive, and detailed
nonetheless!
I really suggest you have a look at it, it is absolutely FASCINATING to realise that all these reactions are happening right now, in every single cell
of our bodies! The pathways you see there are abridged of course, there are many additional ones that dont have as much importance.
Take a look!

Dont forget to download the legend, which contains the enzyme names for the code used in the metabolic pathway gif. The code is standardised
according to the funciton/properties of the enzymes.
The good thing about this map is that it is colour coded nicely, indicating clealry where things are happening in the cell,
i.e. in the chloroplast, cytoplasm or mitochondria.
Plus, each pathway has its own colour coding, such as glycolysis, amino acid synthesis and so on!
REally a piece of beauty - and people have been spending LIFE TIMES just on a few reactions!

Sigma-Aldrich also sent me this when I requested a catalog. When I received it I didn't care about the catalog at first as I was too fascinated

Yes of course it's from Sigma. I saw other maps before, but unless they weren't huge (like poster size) they weren't any good.
Now this one is reasonably small, yet extremely detailed. A great reference for anyone trying to figure how/where things are made in the cell.

It seems to be vector-based graphics, so one can zoom in indefinitely, allowing great analysis of what's going on.
Oh, and even better, the names of the metabolites (chemicals) are clickable, and lead directly to the product sheet of the respective Sigma product!
No wonder they publish this freely, elsewhere one'd pay lots of money for a map like that!
PS Lol I completely forgot about 'Chemoleo's second home'... how time is passing!

Here's another one, an interactive pathway map of various biological systems!
I suppose it's particularly useful when seeking a specific protein, as it is very detailed and uptodate.
Needless to say, the symbols ressembling shopping carts don't indicate specially folded protiens, no, it's a direct uplink to purchasing
them!
