You lucky bastard.
That kit is so cool. AirCowPeaCock - 24-2-2012 at 15:13
I'm going to sell the condensers, or maybe a whole distillation set (no thermometer and no stands/clamps). If someone is interested...Funkerman23 - 24-2-2012 at 16:53

? what are you; thinking of selling parts of this kit? Ehh some love the chase more than the catch... I
still say you are very lucky.AirCowPeaCock - 24-2-2012 at 18:09
I'm not selling any of the flasks, of the sep. funnel, but everything else is fair game--given a reasonable price.Hexavalent - 25-2-2012 at 03:58
What size joints are they?AirCowPeaCock - 25-2-2012 at 09:46
The whole kit is 24/40, including the thermometer port. I have someone already interested in the dist stuff, but its not set in stone. Even if it
goes to him I will still have a liebig condenser left and maybe a claisen adapter to sell.
Everything I have for sale
AirCowPeaCock - 25-2-2012 at 11:06
The vacuum takeoff/receiving adapter and larger lie-big are not damaged--they are wet. I just cleaned them with some hot water and elbow grease
because they were exceptionally dirty.

Might I ask why on earth would you be willing to sell the adapters and condensers? They are rather essential for preparational organic and inorganic
chemistry: refluxing, distilling and so on.AirCowPeaCock - 25-2-2012 at 15:16
Because I already have a combined claisen and vigruex condenser. The two condensers that came with the kit would make a poor reflux. Part of the
money I get from selling these will go to a coil condenser for reflux. I bought the kit mostly because it was an unbelievable deal and I knew I could
profit off buying a few flasks and a sep. funnel.Lithium - 25-2-2012 at 23:05
i am so jealous

If I don't have any takers in the next couple days they are going to go onto eBay where I would have to charge more for the same net income.TheChemINC - 26-2-2012 at 17:53
lucky! on amazon the exact same kit goes for almost 800 dollars!ThatchemistKid - 26-2-2012 at 18:07
I was watching that kit on ebay, I was interested because when I started watching it it was at 1.00. I knew the price was going to go up but I was
hoping not by much, it was sort of apparent that the guy selling it had no idea how much it was worth. But, it went up to 100 dollars and I said nah
because I already own most of what is in the kit and I am saving up for an argon tank and a shlenk line. But at that price I was drooling and so
tempted. You are a lucky bastard.

I know, I couldn't believe I got it, until it came! I was half expecting it to be full of cracks--I mean at that price.. but there wasn't a single
one, my only complaint is every piece really needs a chemical bath. The case for the kit has craters in it too; I think someone spilt some acid on
it. I didn't need most of it, but that didn't stop me, I'm going to turn a profit
and still keep all the flasks and the sep. funnel. I'm saving up for a good vacuum pump (and have a few small things along the way.) I'm planning all
sorts of great things to do with the new upgrade, especially the three neck flask, something I've needed for a long time.GreenD - 27-2-2012 at 06:54
Thats a good deal?
lol I guess!
I have probably spent about the same amount and have triple the items!
Here to burst your bubble. AirCowPeaCock - 27-2-2012 at 06:59
How did you pull that off?! I already got 87.5% off from the same kit new! And it'll all be as good as new after a good cleanin'GreenD - 27-2-2012 at 07:02
Good ole Dr.Bob and a warehouse by my house - sells used equipment from a university. I worked there so I priced it
I once obtained a FTIR for 105$. I sold it on Ebay and bought my current vehicle

What he doesn't mention is his current vehicle is a 1982 toyota corolla.
That was a good buy. I have been seriously searching for a bargain ftir for over two years now, they just never seem to come up cheaply.
Perhaps i should encourage our government to overcommit to a pointless war and drive our economy into recession so that all those mean hording
research facilities have to file for bankruptcy.
Or perhaps i should try to bring back the tasting of chemicals as a viable identification technique. AirCowPeaCock - 27-2-2012 at 07:34

.
There are some people here who still think it is, you could get an army to support chem tasting--the casualty rate would be quite high though..
"Hmm..it tastes kinda like..potassium cyanide. But I might need another taste to be sure.."

Well it appears that the distillation glass is back up for sell..a buyer backed down because "something has come up"
