Found another still head in my collection and decided to give it a good cleaning..well after 3 tries with the usual I can't seem to get rid of what
looks like scale on the seam. Ordinarily I'd chalk it up to etching of some kind but the 'lines' of 'scale' follow the seam where the arm that leads
to the condenser meets the vertical tube( distillation adapter arm). do I need to worry or should I just use it and stop nitpicking?

That depends on what you are using it for. If you have tried cleaning it and still have the feeling that it may be compromised get it looked at/fixed
by someone. Or just use it, but not for dangerous reactions/reactions that require vacuum/pressure. Glass is cheaper than a new face.
