pH Control

Geomancer - 9-4-2004 at 18:44

In order to live up to my new title as "Hazard to Others", I find myself having to maintain a divided cell at pH 6.8. Does anyone have a special, cheap source for pH electrodes or meters? The things are everywhere, but more expensive than I expected. If I had an electrode, I think I could make an amplifier for it, more or less. A full meter would be more convenient, though.

Its not the best thing in the world but it might work.

Deep in the dim recesses of my mind I seem to remember an article in the "amateur scientist" column of scientific american that measured pH using an antimony electrode or a quinhydrone electrode.

Failing that, try narrow range pH paper.

I checked, the Sci Am article is Sept 68 (Weird! I was 3 years old, How do I remeber that?)
has anyone got the resources (like a decent library) to get a copy?
