Hey, I was recommended to here by another forum,
I'm looking for a way to measure phosphorus concentrations in water. I've done some research and the only three ways I've found are:
Ascorbic acid method
Stannous chloride method
Vanadomolybdophosphoric acid method
Problem is I can't use any of the three because of certain chemicals required in the procedures. So I'm wondering.
a) Is there any alternative to potassium antimonyl tartrate in the ascorbic acid method? This one seems to be the safest one.
b) Is there any alternative methods to measure phosphorus?
I know that there's phosphorus strips in existance for quick measuring. What are the chemicals used in them?
I'll have access to a spectrophotometer and common chemicals found in a high school chemistry deptartment.
